Context
From Paul's last letter, written from prison in Rome to Timothy, his younger co-worker, probably still leading the church in Ephesus. Paul warns of hard times and false teachers, and urges Timothy to continue in the Scriptures he had known since childhood (3:14–15). The Greek word rendered "God-breathed" or "inspired" (theopneustos) appears only here in the New Testament.
