1 Corinthians 10:11–15, King James Version

11Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

12Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

13There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

14Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

Context

Paul has just retold Israel's failures in the wilderness (idolatry, sexual immorality, putting Christ to the test, and grumbling) as warnings for the Corinthians (10:1–11), and cautioned anyone who thinks they stand firm to be careful (10:12). This verse follows with the assurance that God is faithful in temptation; the next tells them to flee idolatry (10:14).
